Hi Bernard,

I am unable to use aic7xxx-5.0.5-linux21 or aic7xxx-5.0.7-linux21 on my
Dell Quad PPro system with two built-in aic7xxx controllers (kernel SMP
2.1.87/88) because the system will not boot up. Errors shown below.

Here's how I built it: I first tried untarring the aic-linux21 tar file on
top of the 2.1.88 linux tree, but as a result of stock 2.1.87/88 pci.h
file being overwritten, I could no longer compile the kernel due to lots
of missing #defines in that file. So instead, I used the stock pci.h
file, and added the one ADAPTEC define in pci.h of the
aic7xxx-5.0.7-linux21 tar file which the aic7xxx code seemed to require
and was not in the stock 2.1.88 pci.h (#define PCI_DEVICE_ID_ADAPTEC_7810
0x1078). The kernel then compiled.

However, on bootup, here's what I get:

Floppy drive(s): fd0 is 1.44M
FDC 0 is an 82078.

Do you have any ideas or things I could try to get this working?
