Doug,
I've got a linux box running 2.0.33 with your aic7xxx-5.0.3.patch
installed. I added one of Granite Digital's 68/50 adapters w/active
termination to my system at the time I patched the kernel. Controller
is an Adaptec 2940 vintage 1994, all drives were 50 pin. Four months
ago I added an IBM DCAS34330w 68 pin device. From that time till 3
days ago may system was dead every morning. Seems updatedb and expire
news would lock the bus up tight. I don't know for sure if it was your
work or the Granite Digital terminator that did it but my system is
now rock solid again. A virtual beer and a selection of gourmet
bearded clams to you and Granite!
Thanks Much!
Mike
