Hi,

I tried applying the aic7xxx-5.0.3 patch against my 2.0.33 tree.
With the old aic7xxx driver, I get scsi command aborts and a reset
when the kernel tries to mount the root filesystem - no problems.
Eventually, everything works fine.

With the new driver, I again get aborts and a reset, but then I get
another reset message (the "trying harder" message.) It then
re-negotiates the connection with my first disk; next message that
comes up is one with an ext2fs error, then nothing.

My scsi setup:
2940UW
Micropolis Tomahawk 4345WS
Seagate Hawk 2XL

Future Domain TMC-1680
Seagate 31200N

Dave
