Anybody has any info how to set the speed of a plextor CD-ROM
drive, the 12/20 in particular ?
The latest 2.1.7X kernels have support to set the speed of scsi3-mmc
compliant drives using ioctl's, but for non-scsi3 drives the speed
selection is simply disabled.
Reading through the source for cdrecord-1.6, there are some examples
how to set the speed for eg. Yamaha/Philips/Sony cdrom(-recorders)
but every vendor seems to have it's own modepage to control the drive
speed (which is probably why non-scsi3 speed-select isn't in the
kernel!).
Thanks,
