I'm running kernel 2.0.33 (see my previous post "Linux 2.0.33 crashes
with certain 2940 options") and have found a new message that I don't
understand.
Here's some dmesg output:
PPP: ppp line discipline successfully unregistered
Sequencer busy
Sequencer busy
Sequencer busy
Sequencer busy
Sequencer busy
Sequencer busy
CSLIP: code copyright 1989 Regents of the University of California
PPP: version 2.2.0 (dynamic channel allocation)
PPP Dynamic channel allocation code copyright 1995 Caldera, Inc.
PPP line discipline registered.
and here's some stuff from /var/log/messages:
Jan 10 03:04:03 localhost kernel: Sequencer busy
What does this mean? Every time I boot the machine there is some info
about the sequencer:
Jan 8 20:54:39 localhost kernel: aic7xxx: Downloading sequencer
code...done.
but that message shows up only when I boot my old 2.0.30 kernel, not the
2.0.33 one.
What is the sequencer, and should I be concerned about these messages?
See other post about system information, or ask.
Kevin
