If you send me another copy of the patch I'll see about merging it.  I think 
it got lost before.

Indeed.  The Tekram driver seems to be generally better written, and I gave up 
trying to debug the AM53C974 driver once the DC390 one was included in the 
kernel.  I see no reason why the Tekram driver shouldn't work with any card 
based on the same chip.

Shortly after the DC390 driver was merged the AMD one got broken altogether by 
some kernel changes (the softirq stuff, I think).  Last I looked it was at 
least partly mended again, but I didn't bother to check it out properly.
