I've posted before about my difficulties with the newer aic7xxx
drivers introduced in 2.0.31 and ~2.1.45. Here's an update, if it
might help someone.
I just installed Red Hat 5.0, which comes with 2.0.32. To my great
surprise, I had no trouble loading the aic7xxx driver as a module.
However, when I compile it into the kernel, I get an oops.
If anyone has any ideas, I'd really appreciate it. I've already tried
to do a little poking around to see what the driver does differently
as a module as opposed to compiled into the kernel. If a repost of
the call trace might help, I have one of those too.
TIA,
Dave
