The null ptr deref is in unregister_module ...
Did you try recompiling your modutils? I was using modules-2.1.13 with
kernel 2.0.30 without problems but had to downgrade to 2.0.0 for
2.0.3[12]. It's a good idea to recompile your modutils when you upgrade
your kernel.
