I just installed Redhat 4.2 on a Toshiba Portege 300CT (which, by
the way, went flawlessly, including the X configuration) and have
problems mounting my cdrom. I've got a Sony PRD-250 that came
with an Adaptec 1460 pcmcia SCSI controller. This is the same
cdrom that I installed the system from, so I don't know why
now I'm having problems.
errors:
mount: the kernel does not recognize /dev/scd0 as a valid block
device (may be 'insmod driver'?)
However, I believe all the necessary modules are already loaded:
/sbin/lsmod
nfs ...
pcmem_cs 2 0
ds 2 3
i82365 3 2
pcmcia_core 7 3
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Pete
