Hello,

I am having trouble getting my Chinon CDX-535 CDROM drive and its
matching adapter card recognized by Linux 2.0.29 when booting from a boot
floppy created with cdu535.s. The card is set up with an address of 0x340
which the cdu535 driver looks for.

When I boot Linux this is what I see when the process gets to probing for
the CD-ROM drive:

Sony CDU-535: probing base address 340
Sony CDU-535: I/F CDROM: base address 340, using
    65536 byte buffer

After Linux boots, I attempted to mount the Linux CD in the drive with
the following statement:

  mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdu535 /mnt

...but here are the messages that result:

Sony CDU-535 debug: calling spinup when reading data!
Sony CDU-535 debug: calling spinup when reading data!
Sony CDU-535 debug: calling spinup when reading data!
  Sony CDU-535 Read error: 0x00
  end_request: I/O error, dev 18:00, sector 64
  iofs_read_super: bread failed, dev 18:00 iso_blknum 16 block 32
mount: wrong fs type or bad superblock on /dev/cdu535

Can someone suggest where I may be going wrong?? Am I using the right
driver for this drive/card combination?

ANY SUGGESTIONS would be most appreciated. Thank you in advance.

John
