The Archive is the only/last external device and has an active
terminator attached. The other three are internal. Using the SCSI
Configuration/Utilities program available at boot, I changed Termination
from Automatic to Low ON/High ON. What exactly that does I don't know
(don't have the manual handy). But, it seems to have worked. Tonight,
Created my first backup using dump. Have downloaded Leonard Zubkoff's
MTX program and plan on building it tomorrow.

After the initial problem of finding a boot image to support it, the
Adaptec 2940UW has given me no problems. It does seem to be more
expensive that comparable controllers. Also, in attempting to get
support from Adaptec, I was frustrated to find that all telephone
support costs between 40 & 150 dollars per *incident*. Also, they don't
support linix. Those are my complaints.

Thanks to all,
