I finally got my SCSI disk, and this is my bonnie result:
-------Sequential Output-------- ---Sequential Input-- --Random--
-Per Char- --Block--- -Rewrite-- -Per Char- --Block--- --Seeks---
Machine MB K/sec %CPU K/sec %CPU K/sec %CPU K/sec %CPU K/sec %CPU /sec %CPU
100 4694 85.3 6591 37.1 2198 23.9 5003 85.9 8543 37.0 59.5 3.3
Disk parameters:
Vendor: FUJITSU Model: M2954ESP SUN4.2G Rev: 2545
7200 rpm
ultra wide, but I'm using it as narrow (68 to 50 pin cable)
Other data:
Linux 2.1.57, aic7xxx driver on Pentium 133Mhz, 32 MB RAM
I'm very satisfied with the disk and aic7xxx driver, too. I didn't
have any problems that I wasn't able to solve and now it looks like
everything is very stable (knock knock :)).
I tried connecting disk with the wide cable, but didn't see any
improvement in performance. And because I had problems with other
narrow devices when I tried to use wide channel for the disk, I'm now
running everything on 50pin cable.
Regards,
