I hope Zubkoff can hear me:
My quantum Stratus drive (ultra scsi)came with the newer firm ware which
is I think 0F0C, the same one that you are offering as an upgrade on your
page at dandelion.com/Linux/Quantum.html.

Despite having the newer firmware in my stratus, the drive is increasingly
spitting out write errors, and the bus is increasingly being reset all the
time because of time out errors due to the quantum host. Is there
something else that could be wrong with this drive? It also makes hissing
noise (the kind you hear when the drive is spinning up) each time the
drive is being accessed by a heavy process. It even produces that noise
when I move the mouse cursor in X. Is there a fix to this problem with
this drive?

I would appreciate any help anyone can offer.
cheers
robert Johannes
