I have quite old AHA-1542A (long card etc. from -89)

I have Pentium (Intel Zappa) mother board and kernel 2.0.27.
I have compiled SCSI-support with low level drivers to Adaptec,
but it does not find the card, kernel says only:
scsi: 0 hosts...

I have put append lines to lilo, but it does not help me.

Have anyone any kind of FAQ etc? I have spend too many hours
to searching problem. By the way, there are not irq or dma
conflicts, because I have removed my other cards while testing.
There are only display card and adaptec in my computer...

???
