I'm not sure this has anything to do with the Adaptec board. I have
the same problem with the NCR 825, Advansys 940U and Adaptec
2940UW boards. None of them will scale. I have 2 disks: one dd's at 7
mb/sec and the other at 4 mb/sec when run sequentially. In parallel they
cumulatively manage about 8.5 mb/sec. BONNIE shows the same sort
of behavior. Copying a file from one disk to the other is only marginally
faster than copying on the same disk. I'm at a loss to explain this.
Can someone with other controllers try these same tests to see if
they have the same problem?

					Y.

P.S. I'm running 2.0.30-9 SMP.
