I got a new HP 5p scanner a few weeks ago and have not been able to get my
mouse to work in LINUX since. Here's the background.....

The scanner uses a SCSI card (PnP, Symbios 53416) that defaults to IRQ 4
(COM 1 uses IRQ 4). I was able to get it to work in WIN95 and WIN NT but
only after a bunch of hacking (I had to load real mode drivers in 95 to get
it to work). but I have not been able to get it to work in LINUX. I have
compiled in SCSI (generic) support in the Kernel. During boot up it doesn't
seem to see the card. I really couldn't care less if the scanner actually
worked in LINUX, I just want the mouse to work.

Machine:
Pentium 200+ (Cyrix CPU, Rhino Motherboard)
Award bios dated March 97
Slackware 3.2 LINUX

Please help! I can't do anything in LINUX - productive and useful that is -
play games :)

Thanks.
Skip
