I've just installed RedHat 4.2 and currently attempting to configure a
QAccess VLB SCSI card (AIC-6360 Chipset). By using insmod and tweaking
various settings I successfully managed to read/write quite large
amounts of data to the SCSI drives without any problem - the system was
previously running in DOS without any problems.
However, if the command "mke2fs /dev/sda1 -c" is issued the first few
blocks are successfully checked and then the error "aha152x : more data
than expected (x bytes)" appears as it continues it's check - eventually
the machine will lock up.
The parameters I'm issuing to setup the card are as follows :-
aha152x = 0x340,10,7,0,1,0,100,1,1
(changing I've tried various combinations and all generate similar
results).
1.Anyone had similar problems?;
2.What does the error indicate (timing problem I imagine) ?;
Steve.
