I didn't find any settings for disabling multisession, and I think the
drive is multisession capible. I did find a setting for multi-lun
probing, and I don't know what the drive does when responding to luns
other than 0, but I have that disabled in my kernel for all SCSI devices,
but I did try adding my drive to the black list for luns, and rebuilt the
kernel (30+ minutes on my DX2/66). Then I rebooted and tried mounting the
drive, still halted the system, but this time I rebooted quickly, and got
some new errors for you people to look at:
aha152x: BIOS test: passed, auto configuration: ok, detected 1
controller(s)
aha152x0: vital data: PORTBASE=0x340, IRQ=11, SCSI ID=7,
reconnect=enabled, parity=enabled, synchronous=disabled, delay=100,
extended translation=disabled
aha152x: trying software interrupt, ok.
scsi1: SCSI bus busy, waiting up to five seconds
scsi1: bus busy, attempting abort
scsi1: SCSI bus busy, waiting up to five seconds
scsi1: bus busy, attempting reset
scsi1 : interrupts not enabled. for better interactive performance,
scsi1 : please jumper the board for a free IRQ.
scsi1 : at 0x0388 interrupts disabled options CAN_QUEUE=32 CMD_PER_LUN=2
release=3 generic options AUTOPROBE_IRQ AUTOSENSE PSEUDO DMA UNSAFE
generic release=7
scsi0 : Adaptec 152x SCSI driver; $Revision: 1.18 $
scsi1 : Pro Audio Spectrum-16 SCSI
scsi : 2 hosts.
So, can anyone figure out anything else from that? I don't get the error
about interrupts not enabled, I know for a fact that the PAS16 uses IRQ10
for the SCSI, cause the sound card config program tries to pick that as
the default, and causes problems at boot time, I am now using IRQ15 for
the sound.
Thanks again, I'll keep trying stuff on my own too. I have noticed as I
mentioned in my first post, I can attempt to mount the drive with out a CD
in it with no problem (at least it doesn't halt my system), but I get
ioctrl errors about the photo cd:
sr_photocd: ioctl error (NEC): 0x28000000
CD-ROM I/O error: dev 0b:00, sector 64
isofs_read_super: bread failed, dev 0b:00 iso_blknum 16 block 32
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/cdrom,
or too many mounted file systems
sr_photocd: ioctl error (NEC): 0x28000000
Is that anything to be worried about?
