I am trying to connect an external RAID array to a Linux box running
kernel 2.0.30 or 2.1.50. My host machine has an Adaptec 2940UW and the
RAID box has an embedded Adaptec AEC4312A.
When I boot up machine I can go in to the 2940 BIOS and verify that it
sees the 4312A on address 1, along with the internal hard drive at
address 0 and the CD-ROM at address 2. When I allow the system to boot
the Adaptec driver (aic7xxx) complains :
SEQINT, INTSTAT 0xd1, SCSISIGI 0xb6
Aborting command due too timeout: PID3, SCSI0, Channel0, id1, lun0 0x
12 00 00 00 ff 00
aic7xx: (abort) Aborting scb 0, TCL 1/0/0
SCSI host 0 abort (pid3) timed out - resetting
SCSI bus is being reset for host 0 channel 0
The process then repeats and gives me the same error message.
It appears that the SCSI driver is looking for a different response than
the AEC is delivering. Any suggestions on how to patch this dude?
