  Have you enabled the NCR SCSI BIOS? Before booting the OS (DOG or
Linux), you should get a message about the SCSI BIOS and then the SCSI
devices found.

  I have initiator ID=0 once when I didn't enable the NCR SCSI BIOS.
That was with a single NCR card in the system.
