hi people,
i need help with this controller/driver.
i posted several times in comp.os.linux.hardware but couldnt find any
reaction. has anyone experiance with this controller or at least with
the amd-chip? are there different drivers/kernel-images i can try?
i got scsi resets with suse 4.4 and kernel panic in the end, after
some time of working with the system. starting yast the resets and
system hang came faster, e.g. while trying to install some packages.
as i upgraded to kernel 2.0.30 the system hangs shortly after loging
in without any messages.
part of my configuration:
asus p55t2p4
dc-2974
older toshiba scsi 1gb
ibm dors 2gb
toshiba xm-3401b scsi-cdrom
conner eide 1.2 gb
quantum bf 2 gb
tbeach multisound
tbeach tropez
on the quantum there is win95 and os/2-bootmannager running, but i
use to boot linux with loadlin or boot-disc.
os/2-warp 3 and winnt3.51 reside on extended partitions on the
scsi-hds. the whole system is not little complicated but i dont think
thats a reason for my linux-problems.
