Quantum Technical Support has kindly provided me with unreleased firmware
updates to the Fireball TM (Tempest) and Fireball ST (Stratus) SCSI drives that
correct problems with the drives' support of tagged queuing. These problems
are likely to be encountered by Linux users, and particularly Linux users with
BusLogic SCSI Host Adapters, since the Linux BusLogic driver defaults to
aggressively using tagged queuing. The problems will most likely manifest as
SCSI command timeouts leading to aborted commands and/or SCSI bus resets.
You can reach my Quantum Disk Drive web page from

Please read the installation instructions and warnings carefully.
