I am trying to get my Slackware 3.1 Linux system to use my Muscan Flatbed
scanner. I am running kernel 2.0.30 with generic SCSI support compiled in (as
well as every other kind of SCSI component support!!). My SCSI Bus consists of
the following components:
an Adaptec AHA-2940U (ID 7),
a NEC 700 MB HD (ID 1),
a Compaq 1 GB HD (ID 0),
a Sony 5000 DAT drive (ID 3),
a NEC 4x CD-ROM drive (ID 5),
an external SyQuest 135MB drive (ID4),
and my Muscan scanner (ID 6).
Under Windows 95, I can scan fine with no problems. Except for the fact that
the scanner shows up under every possible LUN on its ID.
When I boot into Linux, it resets the SCSI bus when it gets to identifing the
scanner, then continues loading Linux. In Linux, it does not show up under
/proc/scsi/scsi.
Why would it reset the SCSI bus???? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
