My question is so simple it is hardly worthy of attention. I have
recently installed the most basic Zip drive on my printer port. It
works fine. Also running "guest" on a low end notebook which does not
want to accept the regular Zip software.
My main zip disk will replace the 60 or 80 1.4 disks I have been using
for backups. However, I am wondering whether I actually need to keep
each Zip disk in its "jewel case" or if it is no less safe to keep them
in the boxes with my 1.4 diskettes, at least until my mind adapts and I
put the 1.4's away with my 5.25" disks. Will the Zips deteriorate or
wear any faster if I file them in the boxes where they will fit very
nicely if they are not also encased in the jeweller boxes?
