Can't get my adaptec 6260 chipset bios recognised by linux

I used Norton Disk Editor to find my card, since the debug address in the
scsi-howto (c800:0) didn't work. Anyways, what it says is "Adaptec
ASW-B626 BIOS...Version 1.0 ...Copyright 1990 Adaptec, Inc...All Rights
Reserved.. .. ...HOST ADAPTER DIAGNOSTIC ERROR"
er something of that nature.. the range that its at is: F102E through F10B0.
if someone could help me to get this scsi adapter to work under linux, i
would greatly appriciate it.
