hello...
I need some help getting my new Umax s-6e scanner working. To start I
will list what I have.
Umax vista s-6e
scsi adapter card model No: UDS-IS11 PC/ISA, P/N: 970160-07
LINUX 3.0.3, kernel version 1.2.13, gcc version 2.7.2
I compiled my kernal for generic scsi support.
I downloaded the AlPHA driver
'umax-0.5.4'(ftp://tsx-11.mit.edu/pub/linux/ALPHA/scanner/) and did a
'make' and 'make install.' I had to modify 'umax.c' and 'scsicmd.c' in
order for the 'make' to work.
On boot up I see the messaes...
scsi : 0 hosts.
scsi : detected total
When I try run the Umax driver with 'Umax -I' I recieve the message,
'could not open scanner.'
Any pointers on how to get the scsi adapter to be recognized would be
greatlly appreciated.
Mike
