I am going to develop a Linux driver for a Metrum VLDS tape unit. It is provided with a SCSI-I interface, which seems to be compatible at hardware level with my 2940UW PCI SCSI-II card. In my opinion this driver could be developed by interfacing the scsi generic interface provided by Linux. Metrum provided me, as an example, with C sources of a similar VLDS driver which uses ASPI lib in the MS-DOS environment. Did anybody already afford my current task? Comments and suggestions are actually appreciated!
Andrea.
