Hardware configuration:
*processor Green CPU UMC U5S-SUPER25 --> UMC 486SX 25MHz;
* unknown type of main board (old model with local bus slots), IDE on =
board;
* 16MB RAM
* video: VGA WD90C00
* controler SCSI Alwyas IN2000 (IRQ 15, Bios D800, IO 220H-22FH);
* on SCSI:
- HD FUJITSU M16006SAU (1GB) (ID 0)

* netcard SMC EtherEZ (IRQ 11, IO 340, RAM C800)
On SCSI hard disc are 3 partitions: 2x Linux Native and Linux Swap.
My problem is:
---------------
When I install Linux in distributions: Debian (kernel 2.0.x), SLackware =
96 (kernel
2.0.x), Slackware 3 (kernel 1.x) or Red Hat 4.x (kernel 2.x) then I can`t=
using
my CD-ROM. CD working normally only with Red Hat 3.0.3 (kernel 1.2.x).
Always I using standard kernel.
When I mounting CD-ROM:
mount -t iso9660 /dev/scd0 /cdrom
on screen lists:
mount: block device /dev/scd0 is write-protected, mounting read-only
,and now I wait in silence about 5-20 seconds ... and:
scsi0: Aborting command due to timout: pid xxxx, scsi0, channel 0,
id 1, lun 0
Mode select 10 00 00 0C 00
,xxxx - is changing
I wait no long and I read on screen many information about resseting my =
SCSI controler.
All system is dead. Only Reset-Key is ready to using.
I probing on Always IN2000 with a- and synchrous transmission - without =
changes.
