Setup here:
Kernel 2.0.11, DELIX Distribution, Adaptec AVA-1505 (don't laugh, I have
no PCI slot free),12xspeed TOSHIBA CD-ROM XM-5701TA Rev.3136.
1.: The CD works fine under DOS/Win3.11 -> no terminaton, cabling
etc.problems.
2.: The controller is detected OK, using the 154x driver and a kernel
command line.
3.: CD-ROM is not detected. Tried different command lines: parity
on/off,etc. all to no avail.
4.: This is what comes at boot-time (verbose scsi error reporting
enabled in kernel):
waiting: SCSISEQ (); SCSISIG (DATA OUT); INTSTAT (hi); SSTAT (BUSFREE );
SSTAT (BUSFREE ); SXFRCTL0 (CH1 ); SIGNAL (); SELID (01), SSTAT2 (SEMPTY
); SFCNT (0); SCSICNT (0), OFFCNT(0), SSTAT4 (); DMACNTRL0 (16BIT PIO
READ INTEN ); DMASTAT (DFIFOEMP )
enabled interrupts (ENBUSFREE )
scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 4, scsi0, channel 0, id 4,
lun 0 Test Unit Ready 00 00 00 00 00
aha152x: abort(), SCpnt=0x0008a018, QUEUE STATUS:
issue_SC:
0x0008a018: target=4; lun=0; cmnd=(Test Unit Ready 00 00 00 00 00
); residual=256; buffers=0; phase |not issued|; next=0x00000000
current_SC:
none
disconnected_SC:
This goes on for several pages while all pid's and id's are checked.
The CD is supposed to be id 0.
5.: In the end comes: scsi : detected total.
Any ideas on where to fix this problem ??????
Thank you very much in advance !
GREG
