I purchased a Conner QIC-3280 drive 2GB w/o compression from a place
called 'The Corporate Center', the drive has been solid and fast enough
for me. Conner/Seagate discontinued the drive when the QIC-3295 drives
came out so this place has them on closeout for $139! I am not in my
office today so I cannot look up their URL, however, I got it from
someone on the list who had bought some tape drives from them before.
Maybe someone else remembers the URL?
If you want a current product the QIC-3295 (3GB) drives from Seagate and
others are about $330 and are generally available.
The DAT market has been supplanted by the DLT products which are faster
than 4mm DAT and have better capacity then 8mm DAT, so...
