The version 1.18c of the Linux BSD derived driver for the NCR/SYM53C8XX
chips family has been released today at linux.wauug.org.
The following files providing upgrades for Linux stable and latest versions
and a Slackware bootkernel disk are available at this location:
(ftp://linux.wauug.org)
/pub/roudier/ncrBsd2Linux-1.18c-src.tar.gz (for linux-2.0.29 and 1.2.13)
/pub/roudier/ncr53c8xx-1.18b-to-1.18c.patch.gz (for linux-2.1.29 or upgrade
stable linux from 1.18b)
/pub/roudier/slack-boot-ncr53c8xx.tar.gz (Slackware boot image)
I hope this version will be candidate for linux-2.0.30/31.
It is a quite mature version of the driver that supports the whole
53C8XX family with most of chip features enabled, supplies improved
recovery procedures, allows Ultra SCSI data transfer and provides
full set-up from the boot command line.
Gerard.
