I have an Adaptec 3840UW. It's an Ultra-Wide (40mb/sec) controller, and has
2 seperate channels. Up to 30 devices can be attached! At this moment, I
have 2 4.3GB Quantum Ultra-Wide drives, a HP SureStore Tape 6000, and a
iomega 1GB Jaz attached to it. They all work pretty much in harmony. It is
supported in Linux through the aic7xxx driver, and it works like a charm.
Never have had a SCSI controller related problem in the life of this
machine. The only other controller I would have like to get is the Adaptec
3985UW, It basically has 3 controllers in one, up to 45 devices.
Hope this is of use,
Matt
