From: markk@corona.esg.apertus.com (Mark Kazimer) To: redhat-list@redhat.com, linux-scsi@vger.rutgers.edu, Kai.Makisara@metla.fi Date: Mon, 17 Mar 1997 18:02:54 -0600 (CST) I need help or information regarding configuring the buffer size for the st driver (SCSI) for kernel 2.0.18. I am able to configure up to a 128K buffer, but not any more than that. I am using a QIC-150 drive that constantly streams back and forth with the standard buffer setting. It improves slightly when bumping the buffer to 128K (from 32k), but still only streams for a couple of seconds before it rewinds slightly for the next write. I configured a 2 Meg buffer under 1.2.13 and it worked great there. I rebuilt the 2.0.18 st driver module directly and added some debug code, and it appears that it's calling the kmalloc() function to allocate its buffer, but the kmalloc() call will only accept values 128K and less. What I want to know is if there is a way around this, or possibly another solution? Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
