Hello, I have 2 300mb IDE drives and have just installed a 1gb SCSI drive.
The SCSI drive is a Quantum model Empire_1080s attached to an Adaptec 1542
controller. My problem is that when Linux starts up it sees the drive however
when I attempt to run fdisk /dev/sda it gives me the response "unable to open".
The block files sda to sda8 are defined in /dev. I am running on Linux 1.1.47,
any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Derrick
