Hi,
I just joined the list a minute ago because I have a question to
ask, so pardon me if this has been hashed around before... also note
that although I am a UNIX programmer, I'm basically a total beginner
to Linux and have barely touched it so far.

My question is: can I use one of Adaptec's MiniSCSI parallel-port-to-
SCSI adapters to hook up some SCSI disks etc I've got to my Toshiba
Dynabook 486 laptop under Linux? I asked Adaptec support, and they
said they don't support Linux, but that I should "check with Linux to
see if it's possible" :-) This seemed the most appropriate forum.

Is a special driver needed to make use of this kind of device? Any
advice would be much appreciated. I pulled this laptop out of the
trash, as it were, and I really wanna turn it into a cool little
Linux box, but its internal 80M disk isn't quite enough for what I
want to do with it.

Thanks in advance,
Dave Iannucci
