I'm looking at the Gigabyte GA586DX motherboard with built in SCSI, it
uses the Adaptec 7880 onboard chip. Having been bitten by Adaptec's
"support" in the past, I am wary of any Adaptec products. OTOH the
price is too good to overlook, but only if the 7880 is reliable under
Linux.

Has anybody had any experience with Linux and the 7880 chip on the
GA586DX motherboard? Please email me, good or bad, I'll summarise for
the list.
