Hello all,

Before I go any further, has anyone been sucessful with a
SCSI Jaz via PCMCIA. How did you config up the kernel.
All as modules? High level stuff (the fact that I'm using a
disk) in the kernel while the low level (aha152x) as modules?
Or the whole shooting match in the kernel. I ask because
if you configure the SCSI into the kernel, it looks for
devices long before the PCMCIA is loaded up. I wonder if
when doing so it doesn't shut down the SCSI after it
can't find what the PCMCIA has yet to provide.

I'm running with:
Kernel: 2.0.0
PCMCIA: pcmcia-cs-2.8.17

I've done all the usual things (connect, terminate,
power-up, etc.) I've configured the kernel for SCSI drive.
I can't imagine this setup would be something else. Is it?

PCMCIA works fine for a serial device (modem). This doesn't
really prove much but I thought I'd mention.

I noticed some SCSI patch(es) in the PCMCIA release
pcmcia-cs-2.9.1. Should I be patching this bugger?

The devices in /dev relating to SCSI drives are there.

I did a "cat /proc/scsi/scsi". It answers back with:
Attached devices: none

Thus, it is not up/running. That neat little X application
"cardinfo" states that the PCMCIA socket in question has an unsupported
card.

The logs
messages:
cardmgr[42]: initializing socket 1
cardmgr[42]: socket 1: Adaptec APA-1460 SlimSCSI
cardmgr[42]: executing: '/sbin/insmod /lib/modules/2.0.0/pcmcia/aha152x_cs.o'
kernel: aha152x_cs: RequestIO: No more items
cardmgr[42]: get dev info on socket 1 failed: Try again
cardmgr[42]: shutting down socket 1
cardmgr[42]: executing: '/sbin/rmmod aha152x_cs'

syslog:
kernel: scsi : 0 hosts.

So, the SCSI is trying, so is the PCMCIA. However,
it acts as if there is nothing on the end of that cable (except
a terminator :).
