It would've been more helpful if you told us what exactly you can't 
get to work.  Ie, your Hard Dive, your Tape Drive, you can't boot 
from your hard drive, etc.  Also, what type of hard drive you have.
There has been a new version of the Adaptec driver out since Feb 2.  
It should be in any new kernel after that date.
