Hello....I recently bought an NCR53c825 based PCI SCSI controller, and
am having problems getting it to function in Linux. Seems to work OK
in DOS (I can FDISK it in DOS). Linux finds the card, but when I try
to run either fdisk or cfdisk in Linux, I get the message
Unable to open /dev/sda
or
Unable to open /dev/sda[*]
There are no partitions on the disk, it's brand new out of the box.
I am running Redhat 3.0.3 (Linux kernel 1.2.13), and the device
files seem to be ok (brw-rw---- ... 8, 0 /dev/sda ... 8, 1 /dev/sda1)
What am I doing wrong?? I read the SCSI-HOWTO, but couldn't
make much sense of it....according to the howto, it should work
fine...I'm fairly new to SCSI's so any help would be appreciated.
Thanx in advance for the help....
