If you have a busy server , scsi will take less overhead compared
to (E)IDE.

hdparm -tv /dev/sdb on our p6-200 with buslogic Wscsi (bt958)
and 4200RPM quantum 4.3GB shows:

/dev/sdb:
 geometry     = 553/255/63, sectors = 8890760, start = 0
 Timing buffered disk reads:  16 MB in  1.74 seconds = 9.20 MB/sec

Faster than i have seen on eide.
