I have one of these too - but got the earlier model. It is a Python
drive, since sold to Seagate. They were unhelpful when I tried to get
programming info.
You can control compression and sequencing via mt:
mt -f /dev/st0 datcompression 1 (or 0) to turn it on or off
and
mt -f /dev/st0 offline to change tapes.
The book that came with it shows you can change a dip switch to cause
it to go from the last tape to the first, instead of stopping. You
can also buy a 12 tape magazine instead of the 4 tape mag. that it
comes with.
I've been very happy with mine - good luck!
