Gary,
I've been successfully using an ASUS-NCR53C810
based card, even as my boot disk controller & without
NCR/Symbios enhanced bios. Btw, most better pentium
ready M.B.'s carry the Scsi ready bios.
Highly recommend using the NCR53c8xx driver it supports
the /proc & etc....
I beleive the 'flash rom' statement above actually concerns
the M.B. & not the scsi card.
The 53C815 based cards -have- the NCR/Symbios bios on board.
