The following patches are available at linux.wauug.org:
1. /pub/roudier/ncr53c8xx-12c-to-12d-for-2.0.27.tar.gz
Fix clock problem for NCR53C875 with clock doubler
(Already sent to the lists and to Linus)
2. /pub/roudier/ncr53c8xx-14c-to-16-for-2.1.13.tar.gz
Enables some interesting features of NCR53C875 and NCR53C860 chips.
All the new code is, for now, protected by a config option:
CONFIG_SCSI_NCR53C8XX_ULTRA_SUPPORT
In order to try new enhancements you must enable this option, even if
you donnot have fast20 hard disks. (I donnot :( )
For the moment, this patch is experimental, even if it seems to work
flawlessly for me. Donnot apply to 2.0.X or 2.1.X (X<13).
Here is the config I used for driver testing:
- Tomcat II / P133 / 512K pbc / 32MB EDO
- Promise SCSI Ultra NCR53C875 rev 3 with clock doubler
- Quantum Atlas Fast Wide SCSI-2 2.1GB
- IBM0662 S12 Fast Narrow SCSI-2 1GB
- Toshiba 3401B SCSI-2 (slow but enough for my personal usage)
Gerard.
PS: If you have problems with those patches, or if you want to use a
version of Linux those patches do not apply, mail me.
