Does anybody know which PCI cards with wide SCSI NCR (Symbios) controllers
are on the market?
I'm trying to locate such a card (actually, three of them) for use in three
ASUS P55T2P4 motherboards in connection with nine 2GB Quantum wide-SCSI ATLAS
drives.
Preferably, it should be obtainable in either Germany or The Netherlands
(Belgium might do, in a pinch).
Any ideas? Is this a bad idea? Will it still boot from SCSI afterward?
According to some advertisements in the German computer magazine c't (Heise Verlag)
issue 01/97 for example

P.S. If one could choose between an ASUS P55T2P4 motherboard and a SOYO 5VA2
(both with P133) for running Linux; which one would you pick (and why)?
I tend to favour the ASUS, but maybe I'm wrong.
Both boards have been compared by c't (issue 12/96). The Soyo is reported to
have problems with the upcoming Pentium P55C-200 (MMX), Cyrix P200+ (2.7),
Cyrix P166+ (2.6), (which are running fine in the ASUS). On the other side
it supports SDRAM, which the ASUS doesn't. But have your own look at the article
which compares all the major Pentium boards, and don't look only at the tables,
there are even more informations in the text (eg. the ASUS default RAM access is
a little bit slower than that of other motherboards, obviously to be on the
save side with bad RAM, but you can manualy override the settings within the
BIOS setup; the tables only show the values for the default configuration)
