In one of the recent issues of the german c't magazine there was a test
of nearly all available SCSI adapters. If I remember correctly (I don't
have it handy) there are NCR-based controllers from Symbios itself and,
a little bit cheaper, from a company named Tekram. I can look up
their addresses if you are patient. Both companies have Web-pages.
P.S. There also was a test of nearly all available Pentium Mainboards
in one of the recent issues of c't. I don't remember the results.
I think you can look at the table of contents of all issues
back to '93 on http://www.heise.de/ct/. Of course, it's all
in german ...
