Hello All,
With a little help from some people from this list I managed to get
my Exabyte 8200 recognised by my 2.0.27 kernel at boot-time. SCSI-card
is a TMC850, Future Domain.
Even when I run 'tar cvf' something seems to happen: led's on the device
are flashing, tape is spinning... so far so good.
But: when I do 'tar tvf ...' the systems says "Hmmm, this seems to be not a
tar archive..." "tar: skipping to next header".
So I can't read my tape :-((
Somebode gave me a version of 'mt' with which I should set the tapedensity
(mt -f /dev/rmt0 setdensity 0). But when I do the 'tar' after that, the
situation is the same.
What else to be done to get my tape to work properly???
Best regards,
Ivo Naninck \|||||/
