UDP errors when writing on NFS fs

Hi, we are having big problems with NFS at the moment, in fact for
a few weeks now, with both 1.2.11 and 1.2.13
We have a server machine which we mount stuff from onto our user
machine using 8K NFS. We're also using NIS.
The user machine belgarion is a 486dx4-100 with 32 meg RAM, 4 standard
serial ports, an IDE drive and a WD 8013.
The server machine beldin is a 486dx2-80 with 32 meg RAM, a 1542c, 3
SCSI drives, 2 serial ports and a SMC Elite16C Ultra.

As you can see these UDP errors happen very frequently, we concluded
they happen on NFS writes.
We also get these kernel errors messages as well, though less often.
Aug 20 07:21:50 beldin kernel: eth0: Interrupted while interrupts are
masked! isr=0x2 imr=0x0.
Any suggestions would be very welcome :)
