Problem with ypbind

I have installed Linux release 1.2.3 from the Slakware distribution.
I have tried to install the YP. For before thing has tried to do
to become my PC
a NIS client ( in my net is already present a NIS server).
I have run YPBIND. For see if all had gone well
i have run
rpcinfo- u localhost ypbind
This thing happens: if the command rpcinfo the
run after few seconds obtains a
good response
"program 100007 version 2 ready and waiting"
otherwise the command aborts
"program 100007 version 0 is not available"
Does anybody can to help me?
