I assume you mean serial line load balancing? You have to be able to get=
=20
the terminal server or router on the other side to load balance to you in=
=20
return before you get increased speeds on the receive side. One method=20
with the EQL driver is to bring up a few PPP/SLIP links (VJ compression=20
turned off) with the same address, delete all the routes to the device=20
and make sure that the default route is to the eql device. George=20
'Dr_Delete' Shearer got it to work with a Cisco terminal server where=20
both links had different IP address so it will work that way as well.

I have not tried the driver with five or six interfaces, I have some old=20
mail somewhere where someone did it over a bunch of null-modemed serial=20
ports. (He hit the limits of his hardware before the limits of the=20
operating system hit him.) =20
I have tested it out with three modems with a lot of tcpsprays and FTP's.
However, FTP's over the three modems didn't do so well. I am not sure
why. Maybe its a window problem. I have not had time to play with it more.=
=20
I have a mini-HOWTO written up, it should be available at=20
ftp://ftp.linux.ncm.com/pub/Linux/LOAD_BALANCING
It does not talk about setting up EQL with Cisco terminal servers, George=
=20
has neglected to get me that information far as I know.
Alan tells me that it works well with the ISDN stuff which is a fun thing=
=20
to know. :)
