Kernels previous to 1.2.9 would do bad things to the ne2000 driver
causing these "weird lockups". If you still have the cards, they should
be usable now. (Don't be fooled by the fact that "ne.c" didn't change
in patch-1.2.9 as the fix is elsewhere.)
